Introduced in 2022, the Shoreline Cleanup has become an essential condition of entry to the World Carp Classic. Since its launch, hundreds of participants have carried out cleanups across the globe, helping protect the environments we fish and inspiring thousands within the angling community.
Post your cleanup like a champion
Where you can clean
Any shore counts – lake, river, pond – it’s all acceptable.
If no water is nearby, any cleanup activity qualifies.
Bring your team
Invite friends and family and make it an enjoyable moment together.
Please ensure everyone in your photos approves being posted on social media.
How to validate your cleanup
To validate your participation, each person (including helpers) must create one unique post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn.
What You Must Post
-
5 photos from your Cleanup – You must be visible in at least one of them.
-
One post per participant – Tagging someone in the same post is not accepted.
-
Do not use old photos – Using past Cleanup pictures is considered cheating and may result in disqualification from this and any future Angling Spirit events.
Post Visibility
-
Ensure your post is set to Public so our team can view it.
Submitting Your Post
-
Copy the link to your post and submit it via the Shoreline Cleanup Form.
-
Posts sent via Facebook groups, Messenger, or email may not be verified.
Verification Time
-
Please allow up to 48 hours for our team to review and confirm your post.
Optional but appreciated
Include the Spirit of Angling and Friends of Orellana logos and the hashtags:

How to Deal With Private Accounts or No Social Media Access
If your Facebook account is set to private, you can adjust your visibility settings so your post is public.
Facebook provides a short guide on how to do this in their Help Centre
If updating your settings isn’t an option, you can ask a friend, family member, or even a company page to host the post for you. They are often happy to help, as it also creates positive engagement on their profile.
A single social media account can host up to four posts (three anglers and one helper), as long as each post clearly mentions the participant’s name and that participant is visible in at least one of the photos.
Many of our participants have demonstrated how simple this is.
Once we have been able to verify your Shore Cleanup your name will be tagged with this image in front of your name with a link to your post for all to see. Make sure to re-visit your post often and read all the great messages.
As you know each competitor in an Angling Spirit event must now as part of their condition of entry complete a Shoreline Cleanup. If your cleanup operation can’t be verified by our team before the 4th of October you will be asked to make a £50 contribution towards a future clean-up operation during onsite registration. Your name will then appear as a patron of the operation your funds will be associated with.
