Carp Connections are extremely pleased to be associated with the WCC as we believe it will help us to promote our baits and our flagship Lac de Villedon as the best all-round carp-angling venue in the whole of France.

We were the very first specialised carp angling travel agency in Holland and our principle market areas are currently in Benelux, Germany and the UK.  We are the market leader and with eight years experience operating on exclusive contracts for our markets, and represent value for money on only the highest quality venues. We are very proud of the magnificent Lac de Villedon and believe it to be the best carp-angling venue in France.

Villedon is an impressive 100 acres with, on average, 5 acres of water for each swim, so there’s plenty of room to angle.  There is on-site accommodation in the form of a gite or cabin, and a campsite.  Among the other useful amenities, are a tackle and bait shop for all of those bits you forget, and for the gastronauts among you, there is a restaurant with a superb Wednesday-night BBQ!

Also, there are a very useful cold drinks and fresh bread delivery service, boat and outboard hire, and last but not least, toilets and hot showers.  If there should be anything else you require during your visit, it won’t be a problem as the management are English speaking, and as you can see, all of this combines to make Lac de Villedon the perfect holiday destination.

The stock is impressive, with huge pike and small cats up to 45lb and an estimated 3000 carp.  The carp range in size from 5lb to over 58lb (caught October 05) and with good weight gains of 5lb per season, we predict that Villedon will be boasting its first 60lb carp sometime in 2006.  The catches from the original stock in 2002 averages between 20 - 35lbs, and with several 40’s and 50’s to aim at, it makes this venue the ideal venue for the discerning carp angler.

Having been involved with the WCC for many years, as a sponsor, a ticket agent and as competitors in the team event, carp connections are very pleased to see the event continue to flourish to such an unprecedented level of success.  Year on year it improves, and amazing as it may sound, although many will say that Lac D’Orient is the ultimate venue, from experience we can predict that organiser Ross Honey will surprise us all yet again with future events.

In our opinion, most organisers of European and World carp angling events appear to be satisfied with the level of success they achieve, and because of that, their competitions don’t move forward.  We have concluded that sponsoring events only pays back when contracted as an ongoing program for at least 3-5 years.  If the event increase in popularity our payback increases year after year!

The experience of Wem as organiser and backbone of many leisure events all over the world gives us confidence in the continuance of this event as a marketing tool, and therefore pays back our investments easily.  For us, the World Carp Classic is the ultimate World Championship, official or not, and we advise our clients that if a choice is to be made, to fish this tournament rather than all of the substitutes.  Carp Connections and Lac de Villedon (prize sponsor for the team competition) are very proud to be a part of this stunning competition.

Along with all the other anglers taking part, we can only dream of what might be caught in Lac D’Orient.  Although we are excited about the prospect we can only try to remain realistic and predict that the winners might weigh in a total of 63 kg (approx 139lbs), with the biggest fish being around 23kg (approx. 50lb), but who knows! Team Carp Connections/Basic Instinct Baits will be attending the event to represent our company..
