The very very latest from Lac de Madine 12th May Print Email
The call has just come in from lac De Madine from our intrepid anglers that are on site.  The sun is just setting they have seen loads of carp, the lines are now out and the barbeque is on. The first of a few glasses of wine have now been enjoyed and the waiting begins.Where they are fishing is right next to the spawning bay, how long does it take for carp to spawn? this is really keeping me on tender hooks………..it really is just a matter of time till the mighty carp head back out of the bays for a rest… they must be hungry wouldn’t you after doing what they have been up to? Don’t tell me you would prefer to have a sleep…Today there was a press conference that took place onsite. Journalist from France, Holland, Germany, and Belgium were present. The conference went well and good questions were asked by the assembled group. Included in the questions was one in particular that stood out “ will the lake be closed for the World Carp Classic or will it be open to other anglers , sailing and the other activities the lake is well know for” good question…….. This question was answered by the Managing director of the lake. The lake will be closed to all anglers except those in the competition “came the response. Correct answer, for those of you who can remember the 3rd year of the event you will recall the problems that were experienced with the windsurfers, sailing boats and Uncle Tom Cobbly and all that fancied a day out on the lake. This lead to us moving the event to pastures new. Let’s face it you would not have a rugby match, and a pop concert going on at the same time as the FA Cup final now would you. Well that’s the same for us. Now mentioning the FA Cup Final did you know that Portsmouth were playing Cardiff this coming weekend….and Portsmouth beat Manchester United to be there…well you do now and lets hope they go all the way and win it unless you are a Cardiff fan of course. Last night there were 4 runs……..2 Tench and 2 lost fish. When I heard the description of what was going on at the Lake I felt like hopping in my car and driving straight there. I am not that good at waiting at the best of times and I can’t wait to get the pictures of a honking great carp caught by on of the likely lads that are there at the moment up on this site. The best they can do so far is 30lbs+ I know that they can do better than that. That’s a tiddler!!!!.I am reliably informed that the weather is going to break in the next few days the forecast for today is:
