Thank you to to Barry and Deepak for posting this great release about the event earlier this month. Hope you are doing well as you qualifier unfolds and looking forward to welcoming the worthy winners from the inaugural South African Qualifier. Results and pictures will be posted as soon as we get them Good luck to you all. The World Carp Classic Team "There are but a few anglers in the specimen fishing circle that ever get the chance to fish a world championship event overseas. This year the opportunity has become a reality for many of us, to compete at the highest level for a chance to join the top ranked specimen anglers in South Africa in the World Carp Classic Qualifier. The event will be held at one of the best big fish waters in our country namely Fanie Botha dam in Tzaneen. This is a first of its kind held in South Africa. For the winners of this event a sure place in the team going to France to fish the World Championships held at Lac Du Madine. The prestigious World Carp Classic is in its 13th year and is fished by the” Who’s Who” of carp angling. Winners of the SA leg will fish alongside the likes of Tim Paisley, Lee Jackson, Leon Hoogendijk and many more. Not only is it a life time experience but if the fishing Gods smile upon you, you also walk away with R100 000 prize money and off course the fame that goes with it. The field for this year’s event in SA is a strong one and a few big names in our own circle of great anglers will be at the event. But what makes it even more interesting is the amount of unknowns that have entered, all very capable and eager to prove that they have what it takes to compete at this level. As for ourselves, we have a team of six anglers fishing under the Leisure Angling BFA banner. To say the least we are very keen and very able anglers in our own right and a team to watch at this event. As we count down the last 27 day we are hard at work preparing for the event and making sure that we represent our team and sport to the best of our abilities. Our team members are Barry Matthews, Deepak Desai, Gideon Van Zyl, Cliff Jacob, Eduan Mostert and Martin Nieuwoudt." Barry Mattews & Deepak Desai
