We have not long returned from a final, pre-event on-site visit to Madine. I went out there with head marshal Andy to check that all the preparation that needs to be done was carried out. We normally take a trip out to Madine - as we did earlier this week - for a few days to check on the lake and the work that has to be done. There is always a need to check the lake, including the specific areas that need a visit from the weed cutter, to make sure that we are going to be able to use the best areas. On average, between Andy and myself, a total of 7 weeks per year are spent visiting Madine for various reasons, and that is without the time spent on site for the event itself... (no wonder my French has improved!) In fact, during the event itself, with a team of 50 people, at 9 days per person, an average of 10,800 hours (450 days) are spent at Madine.
