Louis Savage
Our congratulations go to Louis Savage for the superb capture of his 91lb mirror caught using our superb new N-Gage XP freezer baits.

Louis’ account of his memorable capture goes as follows:

"I recently had a week’s holiday at Luke Moffat's "The Graviers", Dijon, France.  Following Luke's rules, you have to fish in pairs and I was accompanied by long time friend Tony Bowles.  We decided to take CC Moore’s bait with us; this consisted of 60kg N Gage XP boilies and associated products i.e., paste, pop-ups, pellets, hookbaits etc.
I also took 20kg Active Feast ground bait myself, Liquid Liver Extract and Feedstim XP.

On arrival we sat at Luke's house overlooking the lake for a customary cup of tea, fish were showing all over the lake.  The first night we fished to showing fish with a scattering of boilies producing 2 x 30lb'ers.  Tony continued with this method throughout the week and had fish to 42lb.

On Sunday morning I decided to bait an area heavily where fish were showing constantly, some 80 yards out in open water, with groundbait, liquid additives, boilies and pellets. The weather changed dramatically overnight with strong north westerly winds and there was a big temperature drop and heavy rain.  I continued to catch over scattering of bait.  On Monday I lost a 40lb plus fish from baited area, Luke was standing next to me when the hook pulled at the net and recognised the fish; I was gutted!

On Tuesday the weather had now deteriorated further and temperatures were now down to 4 to 5 degrees in the day time.  At 2.00am on Wednesday I awoke to a screaming take on the baited area; I simply could not stop the fish on the other end.  It eventually turned and I started to gain line, 45 minutes later after a very hard fight the fish was in the net.

Tony who had landed the fish for me shouted back "It's the Scar mate", we woke Luke as he has to be present for the weighing of the 'big fish', it was the Scar and weighed 91lb.

Between us we had 7 fish; 10 runs with 3 lost to hook pulls. I had beaten my personal best by 40lbs.

Thanks to everyone at CC Moore’s for helping to make this possible. I'm certainly looking forward to my return trip in September!

Yours
Louis Savage"

Many congratulations go to Louis who has caught the first 90lb+ carp on CC Moore baits (to our knowledge!)
