We are delighted to announce that innovative UK company, ATT (Advanced Technology Tackle) will be section sponsors at lake Bolsena. ATT have achieved something very rare in the industry, and in a comparatively short space of time the innovative design of the ATTs alarm has swiftly reached cult status. With its 100% waterproof casing and almost ‘retro’ appearance aligned to its reputation for reliability, it has quickly established itself at the very top of the pile.

I guess that working behind the scenes, helping with the publicity and media related components of the World Carp Classic as I do, and being privy to a lot of the type of detail that competitors thirst for, it may be seen as a nice bonus. Well, I guess it is. It’s certainly interesting if not advantageous, however, it can at times be a bit of burden to know certain things, especially exciting aspects that cannot be spoken about until the time is right and the crossing of all the t’s and dotting of I’s has been finalised.

We've set aside the dates, June 18th - 23rd for the SA qualifier. It will be at the same venue as last year, Tzaneen Dam, Limpopo. We will be using the same pegs as last year plus we've got permission to use another piece of property on the water, giving us about another 5km of bank space. I've got a meeting in January to inspect the venue and decide if we will use it.

Romanian Qualifying Event on Lake Raduta, October 3rd – 8th.   Enduring a very difficult week, all 21 teams involved in the Romanian qualifying event for the 2012 World Carp Classic worked their way through to the finish. The fishing conditions were not perfect – the water level was up 25cm in the days prior the competition, so the fish were affected by that. Despite these issues, 20 of the teams managed to catch fish, most of them adjusting their strategy on the move.

Whenever the World Carp Classic has announced a change in venues it has produced an enthusiastic response, in fact, these moves have certainly generated some of the most exciting moments from an anglers perspective. All of the previous venues have had that same inspirational quality; a combination of the huge, known fish and the massive but mouth-watering, unknown potential of a venue, certain qualities in a venue that anglers across the globe instantly recognise and desire to fish.

A Classic recipe Print E-mail
news-625-pic2Perhaps not surprisingly, the news that the World Carp Classic 2012 will be held on Lago di Bolsena created massive interest within the global carp angling community. We were fully expecting a fair degree of excitement, and possibly some urgency among competitors for places, but what transpired was something akin to a stampede!
Beyond any doubt, Bolsena is an inspirational venue where dreams can become reality and from the moment it was announced to be the venue for 2012, our inbox has been constantly overflowing and the phone hasn’t stopped ringing!
In light of the massive demand for places, we thought that it might be a good time to reiterate how and when places are allocated.
All places are subject to the same rule of payment, with a deposit required to secure a place. Allocation of places per country will be valid until 31st January. Thereafter, places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Named prize winning competitors from the WCC 2011 have until the 10th December to redeem their WCC11 prize and secure their entry in the 2012 event. Balance to be paid within the following three months.
There are laces reserved for National Qualifiers in named countries for further infomation on these please contact the Country Qualifier Organiser's who's details will be posted on the website . There are a number of places reserved for sponsors and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Places have been held for agents / territory until 31st January 2012. From 1st February places any remaning places not used will be available to all agents & WCC organisers.
The places managed by World Carp Classic organisers until 31st January 2012 will be allocateced Strictly as per the country allocation  quota.
Places reserved for lone countries.
Places to be allocated on a first come first served basis but with no more than 3 places per country allowed until 31st of January 2012.
For 2011, all previously participating countries were allocated a minimum of three places and this will again be the case for 2012. If for any reason these places are not taken up either by a Qualifying event or Open they will be reallocated to the country with the highest demand. The places will then go to the anglers at the top of the waiting list.
Places for the 2012 World Carp Classic were made available immediately after the 2011 event and many have already been allocated. The following countries have national representatives through whom competitors will need to reserve their places; Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa and Denmark. For all other countries please deal directly with Angling Spirit. ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

The World Carp Classic 2011, held on Lac de Madine, France was, as it has been in the previous four years on the venue, another record breaking year. New records were established with a record number (20) of 20kg plus fish, several more than ever before and as a result, a higher average weight was acheived. Also, the total catch-weight of the winners, a massive 377.6 kg, set a new record as all in all, we signed off from Madine on a massive high note.
