THE ORIGINS OF LA CHAUSSEE
In 1249, the count “Thiébaut II de Bar”, had based, on the verge of his states, a new city “Francheville” near “Rouvroy”. Lands showed themselves doubtless thankless and often flooded because in 1273, it made build a pond on this territory. THE OPENING OF OUR ETABLISSSEMENT  In 1978, “Baron de WANGEN”, the rich property owner and the industrialist of the region, chooses to donate in the APF of its fish property of 372 hectares, situated to “LACHAUSSEE” in Meuse. The Baron had been seduced by the original project of the APF: the valuation of the site, associated with the socio integration professional of disabled grown-up excluded persons of the world of the work. This project answered a need.
THE POND OF LACHAUSSEE
THE APF is this day, owner Etang de Lachaussée showing 900 acres. This pond is maintained by our workshops “ green spaces “. The produced fish is not the object of no artificial food any granules, it takes advantage essentially of the capacity trophique by the environment, as well as by the punctual contribution of cereal, realized by the workshop “breedings”. A way culturale respectful of the consumer and the environment.
This pond is emptied and fished the last 15 days of October and first 15 days of November what gives
 place to our famous 'Feast of the Fish ': it is the productive fishing. Between 30 and 50 tons of fishes of any sorts are taken back every year. The variation is a function of climatic or natural chances (pluviometry, temperature, predation) which have a direct influence on the available food reserves in the stretch of water. As such, to guarantee a quality of products to our consumers and to protect the environment, the philosophy of the establishment is to have no appeal to extensive productive techniques such as the manuring of fertilizer (neither phosphate, nor nitrate) which could widely improve the returns.This year the 27th event will take place from

The neighborhoods of Domaine du Vieux Moulin, Etang de Lachaussée are exploited in Breedings of Poultry and Rabbits.
 The products of Soil which we market arise largely from our breedings and from their transformation in our workshop of cooked pork meats.
The store is rich in a whole range of poultry, in cooked pork meats, in terrines and in pâtés. We also added to this wide range, a selection of vintage wines to be discovered and joining charmingly to our products!
The Inn Our Cooking team welcomes you, every lunchtime 7 days a week, and proposes you Menus of the Soil also stemming from our Fish production, from Poultry and from Rabbits.
Hike Situated in the north part of the plain of Woëvre, the pond is the natural western jewel of the part of the Regional Natural reserve of Lorraine. Its vast reed beds shelter numerous sorts rare as the dwarfish blongios, the purple heron, the great bittern, the marsh harrier, the punctuated marouettes... According to the seasons, the pond is of use as corridor of migration and as dormitory to some hundreds of ash cranes and welcomes numerous birds of water. A course arrowed around the pond, around 12 km, that is approximately 3 am of walking will allow you to discover the wealth of our ornithological fauna but also the flora: reed beds - aquatic Spices - Wide water lilies - Iris wild - Numerous essences of trees and plants.
The “Domaine du Vieux Moulin, Etang de Lachaussée” is the ideal place to meet, whether it is for a seminary, a training or a marriage, baptisms or other event.
