Angling Publications, Publishers with a rich history in the production of top angling magazines, are to be Official Media Partners for the 2012 event.

Welcome to the online home of the World Carp Classic. Since its inception in 1998, the tournament has metamorphosed from a 48-hour singles event to what it has become today; an enduro for pairs extending over five nights and six days.  Over the years, the event has developed a truly remarkable and unique ambience and it is with great pride that I can say the occasion is regarded by many as a thoroughly unmissable festival of angling.

My ethos is that the event is as open and fair as possible, and I will strive to ensure that this continues to be the case.  With over 30 countries participating, parity is sought by the initial allocation of an even number of places for each country. Also, with the demand for places being traditionally higher than the number available, each country has the option to run a qualifying event, thus enabling a completely open entry. The event is inclusive, not exclusive.
