Lake Bolsena 2nd - 8th September 2012

The last few days have been very busy visiting 5 different lakes and going to the fishing show in Nantes.  After an overnight crossing on Brittany ferries from Portsmouth to St Malo a "few" drinks in the bar and a "few hours" in the cabin Andy Chambers, Marianne and myself set off a high speed heading south. Its always exciting seeing a lake for the first time and seeing the possibilities, particularly when you are looking at areas that anglers are not normally allowed to use.

There are some fantastic lakes out there and the ones that we have seen are certainly amongst them. While we were in France we took the opportunity of visiting one of the event sponsors" Piscalis" we had seen pictures of the lake complex and heard that it had been purpose built from Scratch. What we saw was far in excess of what we were expecting..... Not only are there a selection of lakes catering for all levels of angling there are fantastic aquariums with huge carp and a 100lb + catfish. When you see these majestic fish face to face it’s really is something else... This is a great facility and ideal for families with plenty of accommodation on site and loads to keep the children busy if they don’t want to fish!!!
