 After some busy work months writing for magazines and promoting new tackle at several big European shows, Leon Hoogendijk has finally started his 2009 fishing season with his faithful mate Didier Moine late March with a one-week session on the huge Bin El Ouidane lake in Morocco.
They chose to fish from a quiet island on the east-end of the lake, far from the crowds. During that week they managed to land 34 carp including 9 fish between 35 and 46 pounds. Because the water temperature was slowly dropping in their area they had to fish deeper water every day. Whilst they first caught carp at depths from 7 to 18 ft, the last day they caught them in more than 40 ft of water! It was just a question of finding the right depth every day, said Leon, who added that this successful “warm-up session” is the start of his 2009 season. At the moment he is baiting up two prolific swims on his beloved home River the Saône… We were also informed that the new revolutionary and long awaited Leon Hoogendijk rod-pod will arrive on the market early May.
