Isn’t that how the saying goes?Well, it looks like after many years; my turn has finally arrived to partner up with JRC Consultant Rob Nunn, and make the long awaited journey over to fish the 2011 World Carp Classic. It was 5 years ago that I first met with Ross Honey at our offices in Redditch, and agreed the main sponsorship for this, the most prestigious event in the world carp calendar. I was, of course, longing to actually get involved in the competition from that point, having  been heavily involved in all the support work and liaison with Ross and his A Team  every year since then. However, due to work commitments, I have never had the opportunity to even attend the event until now, let alone compete in it.

I did fish a reconnaissance trip with Pascal Grillot some 3 years ago, and am now really looking forward to the return trip to this great venue again; coming back with the trophy for Team JRC UK, and beating my PB!Madine_sunset

The opportunity to fish with the some of the world’s finest anglers in the carp mecca that Lac de Madine has become, must surely be rate as one of the most exciting opportunities for any carp angler to enjoy?

Pascal_relaxing_at_MadineLooking at the results from last year’s event, and the feedback that both Ross and Andy Chambers have provided following their recent visits to the lake this year, I think that the 2011 event is set to be the best yet. I have posted some shots from the reconnaissance trip 3 years ago, and looking at them, I can’t wait to get back!

Rob and I have been busy planning our logistics and tactics for the competition, and like every other team, are keeping our fingers (and everything else!) crossed for a great draw.

Look out for my next blog in a few days time, and I hope to see you at the event in a few weeks.
