It was time to finally pack away the Pike stuff and break out the Carp rods for their first trip of the season. A rare overnight opportunity had presented itself and I was not about to turn it down, whatever the weather forecast.

It was obvious we were going to get wet, and I had better peg the TX down well as the wind was supposed to gust to 35mph!!

So I’d finally bagged a couple of fish from my winter water.  A week later as I pulled into the car park for my next session I was still on cloud 9. Confidence was sky high – I had cracked it and surely it was now just a case of slinging the rods out and bagging a couple more…..wasn’t it? Er, well not exactly…..

Crystal Waters near Sens in the Burgandy region of France is now in its 5th year  of business. With a fantastic 35 acre site, containing a 25 acre lake with two  large  feature islands, lily beds, large plateaus, deep holes, shallows, deep  margins – basically everything a carp angler could want.
