Good news and bad news to start this part, first the good news, a carp at just gone five this morning on the right river bed rod, out in the boat and a good scrap with a long common. Probably about mid thirties I guessed when I popped it into the sack for some photos in a few hours when it got light.

We settled in for the 2nd night, we had re-done all the rods and had upped the amount of bait used. We had a gut feeling that on this occasion they carp would want more bait, so that is what we did, and the swim looked good for a fish. We just needed some luck and for some carp to come our way.

After the breakfast fish I now only have two rods fishing with no chance of getting the other two back at present, its just too rough so keep busy tying up rigs, preparing bait and pva bags etc. I’ve also got a marker to replace so as soon as the wind drops whenever that might be then I’m prepared, sometimes on here it can be days, but hopefully not as I was enjoying that little run of fish.

Next morning dawned and was again bright and clear and a spectacular sunrise and its always nice waking up with a good carp in the sack. The fish weighed 35ib and was an old Salagou warrior, it had seen better days and its fins showed signs of a decay but it was most welcome.
