You guessed it, there’s nothing more important when you enter into a major tournament and I’m in the very unusual position of not being able to go through my normal routine...

What I am faced with is far from ideal, but I will not be able to even check through my tackle until the few days leading up to this year’s WCC, and even then that represents a bigger problem than you might imagine.

Steve Howard joins Team Richworth Print E-mail
539-pic2It gives me the greatest of pleasure to announce that I, and my angling partner Danny Ormiston will be fishing in this years WCC for Team Richworth.
I had already turned away several good offers (ahem) when, over the phone, the opportunity to join Team Richworth presented itself.
Of course, I didn’t want to appear to be too ‘desperate’ in jumping at the chance to join the team, so I stalled the answer to have a good long think about it... it must have been a good 0.5 of a milli-second before I accepted the invite.

The count down is starting Print E-mail
ross-pic-for-webThe coundown has started to the 2011 World Carp Classic with just over 40 days to the start. I will be going to Lac De Madine over the next few days for the pre event prep with andy Chambers to make sure that everything is in place to make this the best event todate. There have been some great reports of good numbers of big carp being caught so lets hope that they show during the event. I wonder if the event record will be broken this year?? There will be a lot going up on the website over the next few weeks so if you want to keep up to date with what is going on as anglers from all over the world get together for this celebration of carp angling keep you eye on it.

The extreme conditions seemed to have an effect on the carp as well and despite a 29 mirror at the start of the afternoon feeding session, which gave me hope of a repeat performance of the previous day, nothing else occurred apart from a tench at dusk.

The wind kept up most of the night but by dawn it had died right down and the sun was out, happy days. I got up early and redid all the rods, topping the spots up with about 5kg of bait, because I was hopeful that the carp would be on the munch given the conditions.
