I often get asked about what baits and rigs people use for carp here in Oz? To begin with bait; I touched upon the fact that there are no local sources available to purchase boilies, or any other conventional bait ingredients in my previous article. In the future I'm sure that we will see Australian tackle retailers carry some of these products.

2010 is a very big year for South Africa in many ways. The hosting of the Soccer World Cup, defending the World Carp Championship Title in England, hosting the Ladies World Match Angling Championships, sending a complete Carp Team to the World Carp Classic (WCC), to name but a few. For the past few years South Africa was taking part in the event in the form of single pairs.

No, not Washington State U.S.A. as the postie often mistakes it for.  But Perth, in sunny Western Australia; though as I write this I'm looking out of the window at a rather wintry scene, slate grey skies and sheeting rain. Not exactly the image that that comes to mind when mentioning Australia; but hey, we get winter too you know!
