The Ultimate Challenge - The Orient (2007-06-04)
Firstly, Carp Addict Magazine is extremely proud to be involved with the World Carp Classic. Without any doubt, it is the premiere event on the carp angling calendar providing the most prestigious title.

The feeling of pride has never been more pronounced for me personally in the world of carp-angling, than when simply being a part of the event. Such is the importance of this event to carp angling, that I feel it could never be overstated.

Just to be a part of this fantastic event, angling on such a stunningly beautiful Lake as the Orient alongside some of the very best carp anglers in the world, is truly momentous. But, to also have the chance to fish from areas that have only previously been fished during the few days of the World Carp Classic, for fish that have possibly never been caught before, is surely an opportunity not to be missed!

The thought of what this six days of competition holds in store for me inspires my dreams. With the very real prospect of a carp of over 30kg being banked during the competition, it only needs an element of luck to ensure that it falls to one of my rods, and if that were to happen I would be in total dream world!Make no mistake, the event produces a uniquely electrifying atmosphere (and that alone is worth the entrance fee!), but with a host of top prizes up for grabs - alongside the amazing angling prospects and never-to-be-forgotten experience - this event is something that you really should experience, just to appreciate how good it is.

The Orient is a truly spectacular venue with amazing carp angling potential, I know, I’ve seen some of its largest residents when I was invited onto the sluice gate area last year by the Town Mayor. On that occasion, two extremely large carp of well over 30kg showed themselves to our group, and the 200 or so other carp, none of which appeared to be under 13-14kg, kept us entertained for over an hour as we watched intently from above. You could only dream of the possibilities of what might occur if this particular shoal had moved in over your bed of bait during the competition!

Team Carp Addict Magazine will be there again this year and, along with every other participant, we will be hoping for a good result. Whatever happens during the event, we are certain to enjoy the moment and, hopefully, take away some superb memories to go with a remarkable experience. This is what tournament carp angling is all about, the ultimate challenge, the Orient!
