Dear All, Following the announcement of the relocation to lake Bolsena, Italy next year, we have been inundated with requests. Romanian agent, PV TV has wasted no time as they have already organised and run a qualifier event at Lake Raduta. which I attended. Without doubt, 2012 is set to be a fantastic event. The lake is 10 times bigger than Lac de Madine and located just north of Rome and is Europe’s biggest caldera (volcanic lake). Fact file: up to 150m deep, 9.6 km wide at its largest, 53 km of bank space. The water is crystal clear as you will soon see on posted videos. A properly made road follows the bank right round, which will help in logistics for organisers and competitors alike. The lake has a large population of carp mainly commons of average weight of 15 kg... The current lake record stands at just over 28 kg and it wouldn't be too much of a surprise if a lake record is caught as the World Carp Classic has yet again secured exclusivity by being allocated banks that have never been fished before. It is expected that a much greater number of anglers will catch as the nomadic nature of the carp in Bolsena will ensure captures from all around the lake providing a close and fair competition right until the end. There will be an increase in the number of sections and that, in turn will increase the number of prizes to be won from the prize table which will be £70,000 as a minimum. Applications for the event have been flooding in and because there is unlimited space to do so, we have opened the list up a little to 160 places, which is an increase of just 30 pairs on previous years. Please read carefully how places are allocated to avoid dispointment.
